February 12, Bucharest/Romania - In her quality as MEP and member of the environment commission of the European Parliament, Daciana Sarbu wishes to make public her position in support of Romania’s minister for the Environment and Greenpeace to stop the environmental impact assessment procedure for the Rosia Montana gold mine proposal. „The accusations brought forward against Minister Attila Korodi and State Secretary Silviu Stoica only shows the desperate situation in RMGC finds itself regarding their efforts to obtain an environmental accord. It is inadmissible that such a company is allowed to operate according to its own laws in Romania! Importantly, I would like to applaud the efforts made by the numerous environmental organisations which worked on this issue and assure them of all my support!” declared Daciana Sarbu MEP.
